Radiation Therapy Careers
Yale-New Haven Hospital is home to the largest Radiation Therapy Department in the state of Connecticut, employing the greatest number of therapists, dosimetrists and physicians. Our commitment to providing the most comprehensive radiation therapy services in the northeast extends from our close association with Yale Cancer Center - one of only 41 centers in the U.S. designated as a comprehensive cancer center by the National Cancer Institute - to our planned 14-story, 497,000 square foot clinical cancer hospital, as well as to satellite departments at Backus Hospital in Norwich, CT, Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London, CT, and the Shoreline Medical Center in Guilford, CT. Members of our radiation therapy team utilize the most sophisticated technologies, protocols and specialty services available, including high and low dose Brachytherapy, IMRT external beam-approached treatments, Gamma Knife, and much more. Yale-New Haven Hospital is committed to supporting the ongoing education and professional development of our radiation therapy team. We opened the first Radiation Therapy School in the United States in 1964, and today we offer the only Residency program in Connecticut. We also serve as the primary clinical site for Gateway Technical Community College. |
