Careers in Respiratory Care
As an integral part of our multidisciplinary team, the Respiratory Care Department at Yale-New Haven Hospital provides clinical rotations in a variety of specialty areas, including six Adult specialty ICUs, a Pediatric ICU, a Level III Newborn ICU, and Level I Trauma Adult and Pediatric Emergency Services. Our team members actively participate in:
- Medical staff rounds
- Respiratory care protocols
- Nitric oxide administration
- Critical care ground transport
- Clinical research
- Health professional education
- Process improvement initiatives
- Community health outreach
Our staff is comprised of NBRC registered and registry-eligible practitioners licensed by the state of Connecticut. We offer intensive and comprehensive orientation programs tailored to suit the needs of each new team member - including those who may not have recently practiced in an acute care environment - and are committed to providing the resources and support to make our practitioners' ongoing education and professional development a priority.
