Salary Continuation

Extended Sick Leave (ESL)
Yale-New Haven Hospital employees scheduled to work at least 24 hours per week with a minimum of one year of service are eligible for ESL coverage. After a two-week wait, this plan pays 60% of base salary for the period of disability not to exceed 24 weeks in a 52-week period.

Long-Term Disability
Employees are automatically covered by long-term disability after completing one year of continuous full-time employment. The plan provides a benefit of 50% of base salary following a six-month qualification period and 60% if the empoloyee has completed three years of continuous full-time employment.
